Saavi Exporters was founded by Lahiru Wijethunga, a visionary entrepreneur with deep ties to Sri Lanka’s agricultural community, and his wife, Mrs. Savini Walpola, who co-founded the company with him. Born and raised in Polgahwela, Lahiru grew up on a plantation, instilling in him a profound appreciation for the island’s natural resources and traditional farming practices. Savini, with her strong business acumen and shared passion for showcasing Sri Lanka’s heritage, has been an integral part of the company’s growth and success.
Together, they established Saavi Exporters, initially focusing on the export of fresh produce. Lahiru’s extensive experience working with international companies and luxury hotels, combined with Savini’s expertise in business strategy and management, has been instrumental in shaping the company’s strategic direction and ensuring its success. Under their leadership, Saavi Exporters has grown from a humble venture into a renowned name in both the agricultural and gem industries, recognized for its dedication to quality and customer satisfaction.
At the heart of our operations lies the ‘Wijevila’ plantation in Polgahwela, a testament to our strong foundation in agriculture. Here, we cultivate a wide array of high-yielding crops, including coconuts, rambutan, durian, and other tropical fruits.
